Description
This article explains how to reduce the file size for a PDF file in Reader and online. This may come in handy when trying/having trouble attaching a file into Skyward as there is a file size limit.
Explanation/Steps
Acrobat Reader
- Open the document in Adobe Acrobat Reader Pro DC
- Click on File.
- Click on Properties.
- Open PDF file. (It should open with Adobe Acrobat Reader Pro DC)
- Click on File.
- Click on Reduce File Size.
- Select the location where you would like to save the reduced PDF file. In this example, it is the Documents folder on the local C: drive.)
- Name the file.
- Click Save.
- It will show a progress bar until a dialogue box appears confirming completion of file reduction. ****Note: The file was not significantly reduced on the first attempt****
- If the PDF file size is still too large, reduce the file again by repeating steps 1 – 6. For example, I reduced the PDF file named “Reduced Test PDF.pdf” and yielded the following result:
- On the second attempt, the PDF file was reduced to less than half its original size.
