Below you will find solutions to the most common issues with iPads in your classroom. If after checking physical and settings issues you still experience issues, please submit a Help Desk ticket.
iPad won’t connect to the internet?
Solution 1: Verify airplane mode is off.
Check this by opening settings as shown in the picture below.
If the problem persists...
Solution 2: Verify connection to Wi-Fi.
Check this in the settings menu where circled below.
If the problem persists...see below picture for Solution 3.
Solution 3: Verify Private Addressing is turned off.
To check this, click on the small "blue i" under Wi-Fi as pictured above. That will lead to the toggle circled in red below. (If gray, the toggle is off; if green, the toggle is on.)
If issue continues to persist, see below picture for Solution 4.
Solution 4: Verify that Do Not Disturb is turned off.
Check this under Settings, click on Focus, then check that Do Not Disturb is turned off as pictured below.
Can’t login into website?
Solution 1: Verify the correct password is being used.
If problem persists...
Solution 2: Close all Safari tabs at once as pictured below.
If problem persists...see below picture for Solution 3.
Solution 3: Clear History and Website Data.
As pictured below, in Settings, navigate to Safari, click Clear History and Website Data.
iPad or App Freezes or won’t open?
Solution 1: Perform a Hard Reset.
Accomplish this by holding down the Power Button and Home Button at the same time for 12 seconds and then release.
If problem persists...
Solution 2: Force Close All Apps.
Click Home Button quickly twice. Then swipe up to remove apps.
If problem persists...see below picture for Solution 3.
Solution 3: Delete and Reinstall App.
To delete the App, hold down on App icon until Pop-up Box appears. Tap on Remove App. (Shown in the picture below.)
Select App from App Portal as pictured below.
Tap Install. It can take a few minutes to install.
Student showing up Offline in Apple Classroom?
Solution 1: Verify Airplane Mode is OFF.
Solution 2: Verify Wi-Fi is ON and connected to MCCSC.
Solution 3: Verify Bluetooth is ON.
Solution 4: Verify Private Addressing is OFF.
All of the above options can be found in Settings as pictured below. To access Private Addressing, click on Wi-Fi and the options appear as shown in the second picture below.
If problem persists...see Solution 5 below the two pictures.
Solution 5: Verify Do Not Disturb is OFF.
In Settings, click Focus and verify the toggle is gray and turned off as pictured below.
